I just got my Cold Steel Recon I in the mail today, and wow, it is a nice knife. With that being said the thing is huge. I have big hands and it fills them fully. I will give it a try for a little bit and see how it works and how it feels in my pocket.

The way the knife opens is pretty smooth, it has a little retention in it but I think that is bc of the lock they use on the knife. But, you can still open it one handed with ease. Closing however I can not yet do one handed, since the lock is one the top I usually have to twist the knife in my hand and push the top button. The quality of the blade seems very good, and the knife is very sharp right out of the box. It also came with 2 pocket clips, which is kind of nice in case I lose one I guess. The grip is very well grippy lol. I am wondering how it is going to do in my pocket. But in my hand the knife feels solid and wont budge.

As I use it more I will post more things about it.

This knife might not be right for me but, we will soon find out.

If this proves to be factual, the next week or two could get very interesting. Personally, I doubt that O has cohones enough to get involved, but I'd put nothing past the Israeli's. The Saudi's involvement does seem somewhat far-fetched, but if Iran gets nuclear weapons, they are in as much danger as Israel, if from nothing else but the fall-out.

The Saudis have facilitated the construction of a secret IAF forward base, five miles outside the city of Tabuk , Saudi Arabia . The Saudis and Israelis, as usual, pretend not to know each other. The Saudis have closed Tabuk airport for civilian flights for several days as the Israeli Air Force landed jet fighter aircraft and military supplies. Civilians were not told of the purpose of the closure, but were accommodated by the Saudi government elsewhere.

The base outside Tabuk, according to unconfirmed sources, is a ‘forward’ operating base for combat assault helicopters along the ‘corridor’ that has been created for the free passage of IAF combat assets on their way into Iran… greatly reducing the distance that Israeli aircraft would have to travel to reach their targets in Iran. There can be no greater indication of the fear that Iran has caused among the middle east Arab states than that there is not one word of invective or protest against the ‘zionist occupiers’, which is an Islamic catch-word for all things Israeli.

It is ironic in the extreme that scrappy little Israel is not only in the position of having to save itself, but will be existentially carrying the banner of the crescent into combat for the solidly anti-Israeli, but timid, Arab states who seriously fear an Iranian hegemony over the region enforced by an Iranian thermonuclear threat. This is the latest in a long series of preparations that have resulted in Iran quickly shifting large numbers of combat troops from the home guard, tanks, artillery and missile assets closer to the north-western border and into the Caspian region, in what is described by the Iranian high command as a state of war.

Israel’s recent additions to its defensive/offensive capability include a new secret combat satellite system launched into low earth orbit on June 24. The Israeli military would only say that the new satellite, Ofek 9, has unprecedented military capabilities. Ofek joins two other Israeli satellites presently in orbit and has Tehran in a quandary, as the resolution from the orbiting satellites is said to be less than a meter. You can run but you can’t hide, seems to be the message.

The United States has several naval carrier strike forces including an anti-submarine strike group and amphibious landing ‘Expeditionary Strike Group 5', which includes elements of the United States Marine Corps 15th Expeditionary Brigade from Camp Pendleton, California, said to number some 6,000 Marines and sailors. With American, German, Israeli and Canadian Naval assets now in position and Israeli land air and sea assets at the ready, it would seem that hostilities are imminent. Combat-ready troops cannot be kept at an extreme state of alert for long periods in advance of an assault… it tends to take their edge off.

Further, I don’t think that at this point the Mullahs could get off the hook if they rolled over and said they’d make nice… it’s gone much farther than that now. In addition, the government has lost control of the country’s nuclear weapons programs which have been taken over by fanatical home guard units, as the Iranians rush to the finish line for their Islamo-bomb.

Can they be as blind to their situation as Saddam Hussein was during the American preparations for taking out his regime? Only time will tell, but time is running out for the Iranians. God bless America, Israel and our other allies in this ugly but very necessary task.

Can't find anything to confirm or deny this, but as they say in the Intelligence Community, it came from a "usually reliable source".
They know what's in your trash, they know what you eat, they know how often you bring your recycles to the curb -- and they may be coming to your town soon. That is, if they're not already there.
In a growing number of cities across the U.S., local governments are placing computer chips in recycling bins to collect data on refuse disposal, and then fining residents who don't participate in recycling efforts and forcing others into educational programs meant to instill respect for the environment."

My main carry pistol is a Walther PPK/S (S&W licensed manufacture). I'm still, after 3 years, trying to find an acceptable holster. As background, I use a heavy two-ply pistol belt as my regular belt. I truly prefer a high carry at the 4:00 position or even a tad futher south with a slight cant--used to make my own when I had the time and patience for forming the leather (but those were for a S&W Model 10). So far I have and have tried a Bianchi Model 100 with clip for belt with IWB carry. Wobbles too much, sometimes won't stay on at all. Kind of embarrassing to have it fall off in the restroom:redface:. Then there's a Galco FL204 for outside the pants carry. The cant and height is nice, but sometimes it's hard to cover and being a slot-on holster, it's awkward to take off when entering places where guns aren't welcome. I've got a DeSantis pocket holster and it's basically a disaster: doesn't contain the pistol well and frequently the pistol ends up rattling around loose in my pocket, not a good thing:icon_frown:. At the moment I've gone to ankle carry with a Galco ankle rig because at least that stays concealed, holds the gun, and is not grossly uncomfortable.
I've got a really nice BladeTech Kydex holster for a 625, and would like to find something like it for the Walther, but BladeTech doesn't make one.
Anyone have other suggestions, other than bankruptcy? What I want is an IWB holster that will hold its shape (kydex, or kydex braced?) with snap-on belt attachment, NOT a clip, and at least 2 widely spaced snaps so that the thing will stay put and maintain the angle I want. Is there such a holster out there?
Thanks for your advice and suggestions.

The October shoot at Corndoger will be a TEAM SHOOT. That’s right a team, you will shoot in 2 man teams. You can choose a partner prior to the event and talk strategies, you can find a partner when you get there or we can pair you off before we start shooting. Either way make sure your there as it will be a great day of fun at the range.

The team shoot shoot will be on the regular 4th Sunday of the month, October 24th. We will get started a bit earlier at 10:00 a.m. instead of the usual 1:00 p.m. It is open to all shooters regardless of Double Tap membership. Registration is $15.00 and $10.00 for Double Tap members.

Just to give you a few details. Other than the standard safety issues the rules are simple; one IDPA legal gun is to be used for the event. No changing guns for different events. The rest of the rules are event specific and will be given to you at each stage. The scoring will be a “points down” scoring system similar to IDPA. Events will have time and penalty points for poor accuracy or missed targets. Each event will test a different skill set. There will be a couple IDPA type COF’s, some longer range shooting, some all steel stages, some partner dependant courses and a few surprises. Bring plenty of ammo (150+) and a smile. I think everyone will have a chance to shine on a few courses. I think we will all have a great time.

Oh ya, there will be a pot luck meal at about 1:00. We will be providing pulled pork BBQ sandwiches and maybe burgers and dogs. Please bring a side (chips, finger deserts, potato salad, beans, slaw, etc.) and join in on the fun. With that said please feel free to bring along the family if you care to.

Last but not least will be the prizes. We will be giving out the prize for the winner of the Corndodger Challenge as well as the top shooting team of the day. We have also purchased and are getting donations for a number of really nice door prizes to be handed out in a drawing so everyone has a chance to win. So far we have donations from, Brian Enos, Wilson Combat, LA Police Gear, Holsters and More, Flint Hills PowerSports and more on the way.

This will be a fun event for all so please come join us.
