  • 7 C cell light repair needed

I had a 7 C cell Maglight I bought years ago at the KS Coliseum gun show. Great light. No longer manufactured.

I bought some C cell batteries and put them in the Maglight. After a short while the cells in the package all leaked. TRied to remove the cells from the Maglight. No go.
Removed all the parts from the flashlight and trided to use a wood dowel and a hammer to remove the cells.

Returning the light to Maglight for repir means they will replace the 7 cell light with a similar current model.

Anybody know someone who repairs Maglights?

I remember those. Had one for a while, it came in handy a few times. Worked good as a take-down device several times. Come up behind the bad guy when he's getting obstreperous, slip it between his legs, turn it crossways, and it makes a great handle to help assist him gently face-down to the ground. Stopped several fights that way. Mine got stolen by a former co-worker (I say 'stolen', but he actually 'borrowed' it and didn't bother to return it).

Hope you can find somebody to fix it. Ace2

Thanks. Will do. It is a handy diameter and the length makes it a good defensive and even offensive weapon.

I remember when Wichita PD was allowed to carry Maglights. Some drunk started a fight and the officer used a Mglight to end teh fight.

One broken arm. A Law suit the City lost. City Council banned officers carrying metal flasjlights

Well, obviously there was a need for Sensible Flashlight Control.

BITD, one of our guys was working traffic control at a highway wreck. A car full of boisterous youths disregarded his instructions to stop and wait for other traffic, and almost ran over some people at the scene. Our hero threw his Maglite at the car (not normal or trained response to such a situation), and it hit the rear window, breaking through and sticking in the glass. As I recall, it was shining backwards from the car, which made it easy for us to spot and stop them. Tough lights. Ace2

And compared to SUREFIRE and others they are not too expensive. I've got a 3 C cell LED from Wall-Mart that wasn't high dollar. Very bright, many option for what the switch does. But 7 cells makes a better blocker or weapon.
