    Preferred Tactical Flashlight

I am looking to update a flashlight and I see some nice rechargeables now. What recommendations can be given for a 1)in car 2)bedside and 3)edc flashlights out there. Any advice on size, features and lumes would be appreciated.

What can I say, my erudite friend? They work.

I wouldn't sweat it. BTW, Streamlight makes some pretty good stuff.

A lot of the older reliability issues with tac lights had to do with the bulbs & recoil. Now with LEDs reliability and performance comes with a cheaper price tag. I prefer SureFires, especially their WMLs because I've never had one fail through deployments, work travel and high volume classes. I've got a few of their HHs, but I'm not going to buy one for every single place I might want to keep a flashlight. There's lots of cheaper alternatives that will work well for that purpose.

Don't worry, Dmog, I support you choosing what works best for you. If I'm ever in a situation where you offer to help, I promise to not be snobbish and refuse the offer based on which flashlight you're carrying. Ace2

I spent most of the night laying here trying to decide what floor sample looks best and if I should install it myself or not. Then it dawned on me, single boxes aren't really that expensive and there's a lot of wiggle room if I do it myself so if I get a cut or 5 wrong so be it I can just grab a new piece and start over. And trim pieces can be used strategically.

I think you made a good choice and if it turns out to be a bad choice it can be easily corrected, it's just a flashlight

What stands out to me is that neither really have much to do with civilian self defense.

Same here, past my prime but going down kicking and screaming.

I really like those two, really good people. We disagree on some things civilian self defense related but it happens.
