Wyoming changes reciprocity law; how do we get Kansas to reciprocate?
(Not sure if this is the is the right spot for this question, so please feel free to move it.)
Recently the governor of Wyoming signed into law a bill allowing Wy to reciprocate with any state that will reciprocate with them. As far as I know, Kansas doesn't recognize Wy.... So how can we get that changed? Last edited by Skippy; 04-08-2010 at 18:46. |

I think Wyoming allows persons 18 and up to conceal carry and I doubt that KS would allow that since ours is 21. That would be lesser as opposed to equal or greater. I'm not sure what that hang up is but I would guess that has something to do with it. That's what my Utah non-res is for.

The issue of 18 just means we have recognition of those who are 21 or older.

Once the bill is signed into law, I will inquire with the AG as to what states we may be able to add.

When in any state, you are required to follow the rules of that state. I doubt that reciprocity will require that CCH for Wyoming residents between 18-20 would have to be honored, reciprocity would apply to those 21 and up.
I expect that within a few years, reciprocity will be almost universal because there are so many that do so now.

When did this change? For example, the original law that passed in Nebraska at about the same time as the PFPA, did not honor any other state's licenses, but as I recall Kansas still honored Nebraska licenses, as their requirements were similar to those of Kansas. This even though Nebraska would not reciprocate. What am I missing here?
