If that is true, than I retract my former statement. And I apologize to both Mr. Moran and Mr. Tiahrt. In any case, the house introduces any monetary legislation. And we saw a balloning deficit, even during Bush. It is much worse now, but all of them got drunk on power.

He is not only good, but he is one of the best. He brought more money back here than most other places got.

So our Kansas rep is good for bringing money into Wichita?
Driving up the deficit to benefit Wichita. I reckon that is where his supporters will come from too. tk

I said this in another thread, and I will say it again: there is a reason Mr. Little isn't getting much publicity.....THE POWER PEOPLE DON'T LIKE HIM! It is that simple.
The way I see it is this: - the more money a person has to make comercials and adds, the more likely they are to be in bed with various interest groups - the less publicity a condidate is shown, the more the power people dislike him/her - the least amount of elected experience he/she has, the BETTER - if they are not and have not been a lawyer, the BETTER - if they have experience with money, the BETTER - if they have worked the jobs of common people, the BETTER This is a primary. There is no concern of 'splitting the vote'. I was at one time pulling for Jerry Moran. His office assisted me on an issue. For this I am thankful, but I will not have a blind allegiance because a politician did their job at one time and assisted me. The fact is, bot Tihart and Moran have been in Washington for too long, just like most of the others. We need people in there who have not been contaminated. I will be voting for Mr. Little.

+1 the campaign has let me know I can't trust Tiahrt or Moran any longer.

Well, fact of the matter is that either Tiahart or Moran is going to be elected, both are strong on gun issues. The question is which one has the ability to be more effective in the Senate. Moran has demonstrated that he is willing to challenge his own party on matters that don't make sense or pass constitutional muster, Tiahart in my opinion just blindly follows the party no matter what so my support is behind Moran.
The good news is that both potintial sucessors to Brownback are more conservative than he is IMHO. |

CONTRACT WITH AMERICA
According to Wiki, the Republicans held up their promise to bring the 10 issues to the Floor of the House for debate and vote. Although most fell to the Senate, or Clinton's veto, some did pass in some form. Obviously, the Contract did not promise to PASS the bills, but simply to INTRODUCE them. The welfare reform bill failed, but another with many of their provisions was signed into law by Pres. Clinton. There were others too, but I cannot remember.
