Thanks man. I actually wore my holster in to the DL station and left my Glock in my lock box in the car. Then holstered it when I got in the car. Today was a great day.

No correspondence at all from them for 4-1/2 months?

The law says they have 90 days to approve or deny.

Not tryin' to cause any trouble- just wondering...

Just got ours!

New to the forum, but thought I'd contribute our wait time as my wife and I just got our KS CCH.

We applied at the JoCo Sheriffs office on 4/28 and received out approval from in KS AG in the mail on 7/9. Took paperwork to the DL office on 7/14 and received our shiny new CCH in the mail on 7/24.

I did get a little antsy and call Steve Six at the AG on 7/2 for a status on our applications and was told that they were scheduled to be mailed out that morning. Just a FYI for the couples out there - when I called I did have to verify myself (used last 4 of social) but when I asked about the status of my wifes app I was told they could not devolve that due to confidentiality reasons. The nice fellow did say that if I could put her on the phone he'd talk to her, however she was at work at the time. It was no big deal to me as we both have done everything together so if mine was on it's way hers was most likely not far behind.

Just for grins I applied for the Florida CCH and mailed my packet around mid-May and received my license around beginning of June. Sorry for not keeping track of the days, but I estimated it took about a month from mailbox to mailbox. Even after I got the FL CCH there were several weeks when I had a FL CCH but still could not carry in KS - bummer...

Overall our experience so far has been a positive one. I am not new to firearms, but am a newbie when it comes to the idea of pistol for self-defense and CCH. With all the anti-gun sentiment out there I expected some issues, but all the people we've come into contact with have been very professional, courteous, and helpful on our road to CCH.

I sent an email into ksagcc@ksag.org and got an ETA.

I applied @ JoCo SO on 6/21. AG received my application on 6/23.

AG's office said as of today, "It has been taking approximately 6-8 wks to complete an app if there are no questions or problems that would detain it. Look for it sometime near the end of August."

Sounds like I'm in for a longer wait than I'd thought, and after reading some other posts, I think late August is wishful thinking.

Ah well -- gives me time to shop around for a more concealable pistol. Of course, it'll be Winter by the time I get my license, so maybe the Sig P226 will be OK under my big coats...

I really hope that isn't me...

I turned in mine at about the 13th of July and was told that it would be at least Sept before it was approved.

They have 90 days so being patient is a virtue as always said. 54 days used to be the norm.

Got fingerprinted and turned the paperwork in on May 14, 2010.

77 days and counting for me...I think the current wait times are running rather high lately due to a high volume of applicants. And, the A.G.'s office have been busy dealing with the July changes to Kansas' CC law.

So, 50-60 day wait times seem to be the exception rather than the norm these days.
